hey. back from sheffield and manchester! hoo boy. 2 consecutive meets. woah. it was kewl. went to sheffield fer british open. :) nicey. spent the whole of the past 2 and half weeks swimming, eating, sleeping and swimming. and swimming. yep. it was kewl. cool. had.... 7 events there.. hmm. it was a pretty good meet. swam pretty good times. yep yep. then... dropped kj off at airport and then unc siong and i went on our way to manchester. supposedly, it's supposed to be a rainy place. but. haha. didnt rain at all while we were there. so. ppl out there. manchester's a kewl and non rainy place. to me at least. it rained a lil lil bit at the commonwealth games. but. nothing else. :) when we got there, we were one of the early teams there. the countries that were there anyway were, aussies, canadians, singaporean, spanish and a south african. :) the aussies and canadians were mainly together most of the time. training and stuff. the one spanish, one south african and one singaporean stuck together. for training and stuff. :) thank God i was with them. they're really cool peeps. not that the aussies and canadians werent. just that the 'singles' were ( i feel) better off together. :p anyways. the spanish guy, xavier, S5 swimmer too. but i think he kinda should be in S4. hm. kewl kewl guy. works as a commentator in his country. and lucky me. he speaks english. :) the south african gal, natalie du toit, is also way way cool. :) she's kinda a role model for me. she just rocks. and there was one funny incident. on the day we arrived at manchester, she was on the same bus. so. we got off the bus, same hotel. we went to put our luggage in the rooms and unc siong and i were planning to grab a bite.(it was lunchtime) i got my luggage settled, went out. saw natalie there. we exchanged a few words, and she said, "so, you can speak english." i burst out laughing. >.< it was hilarious. i told her that i bet many ppl thought that too bcos i don't speak very much anyway. :p anyway, that sparked off a friendship. and i must say again. she's cool. i thought that after so much success, world records and publicity, she might be a lil.. arrogant? but. NO WAY! it was NOTHING like that man.. she was so down and to earth and so nice. well. humble. yeps. :) good ppl. :) well. then. next few days went past, the event kicked off. more countries started arriving... and.. well.. competition started showing up. my competitors who were there include, teresa perales - spain, inbal pezaro - israel, noriko - japan, bela - czech republic, katelina - hungary.. not sure who else. hmm. well. the comp day came. swam. and won silver medal! :) hee. frm fifth to second aint too bad. :) plus a pb. shucks. just gets better. :) hmm. well. at least this has let me know that i can beat some of these super strong swimmers i thought i couldnt beat at first. :p well. teresa just got married, so i suppose, not that fit at the moment. bela seems to have gained quite some weight. noriko, i don't know why she didnt beat me this time but anyways. inbal, same age as me. and pretty efficient in breastroke. so.. i predict she'll be my best rival. :) well. with that done and over. we had the official dinner. packed up, left the next day.. and here i am! :) haha. well. i can safely say this was a successful trip. definately gonna do better once i get toned and fit. with gym training set up.. wahahaa.. muscle toning here i come! :) ciao ppl. :)
